The VizAfrica 2024 Conference will take place from 5th -7th February 2024 at the African Institute for Capacity Development (AICAD) located at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), Juja town in Kenya (https://www.aicad.or.ke/). AICAD is currently hosting the Africa Open Science Platform ( AOSP) East African Node whose aim is to support and promote efforts aligned with implementation of open science programmes at a regional level, strengthen knowledge networks and infrastructure access, and enhance cooperation between regions and globally. VizAfrica 2024 Conference is an activity of the AOSP Node with the theme “Data stewardship and use for scientific and socio-economic development.”

The conference also includes a five-day summer school training, a DEEP DIVE into topics like Data Management, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, Robotic Process Automation, Data Analytics, Data Visualization, and the Internet of Things.
Facilitated by the GOSC International Programme Office (GOSC IPO), the CSTCloud technical team is set to organise a technical training workshop during the upcoming summer school. This workshop will focus on cloud federation and technologies under the umbrella of Open Science and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The objective is to not only enhance technical skills of local experts but also to identify collaborative opportunities that can further enhance the global network of GOSC and facilitate its cross-continental implementation.
