A CSTNET dialogue to advance regional interconnectivity

 2026-05-13

In late April, the China Science and Technology Network (CSTNET) held a working session with Singtel. The meeting focused on developing CSTNET's international node and explored opportunities to collaborate to improve regional data connectivity for scientific research. Representatives from the China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) also participated in the discussion.

Dr. Jingjing Li, Director of the CSTCloud Dept at CNIC, CAS, chaired the session. Representatives from Singtel, CNNIC, and CSTCloud presented updates on their cyberinfrastructure development. In particular, Singtel shared its comprehensive global footprint and internet connectivity capabilities, with operating entities and branches spanning Asia, North America, Europe, and beyond. Meanwhile, CSTNET presented its national research network, full-scope operations and monitoring system, and integrated cloud-network services that underpin China’s scientific research and major international science programs.

“CSTNET is committed to advancing open, global research connectivity and to pursuing strong international partnerships that support high-quality cross-border scientific collaboration,” says Dr. Jingjing.

Following the in-depth discussion, CSTNET and Singtel gained a full understanding of each other’s strengths and identified aligned opportunities for future cooperation. CSTNET looks forward to leveraging regional and international partnerships to build reliable digital cyberinfrastructures and to collaborating to jointly empower international scientific research and technological innovation through a long-term strategic partnership.
